Sleep Part 1...Are you a good sleeper?

Do you have a good sleep routine?
Our sleep routine is so important for our overall health and wellbeing.
During sleep is when our body is resting (obviously) and repairing. I know that when I do not have enough sleep I am moody, not productive, make bad food choices that all compact the situation.

Are you a good sleeper?

Are you getting perfect sleep every night?

Maybe a new routine is in order.

Perhaps you are old enough to know what your natural sleep cycle or tendencies are. For me, I naturally want to be asleep by about 10pm and wake around 7. However, I usually stay up until 11 or 12 and don’t want to get out of bed before 8 or 9am. So, I have checked in with what my body naturally desires as well as how I push it. I tend to be a good sleeper but if I cannot get to sleep right away or wake after a few hours I get so frustrated and then I realise that millions of people do this every night, cannot fall asleep or stay asleep for a good chunk of time each night.
Now, if we have babies that is a different story….you go on autopilot, sleep when you can because the little ones need are most important right now.

We work so hard to get a good routine for our babies and even hold ourselves to some magical parenting ideal if we cannot get our kids to sleep and in a routine from day 1 practically but then when it comes to ourselves….all bets are off.
We let ourselves get into bad habits.
What bad habits do you have before bed?

Do you stay up too late, get overtired… what about over or under eating? What about too much sugar or caffeine just before bed?

Sugar and caffeine before bed is my favourite. This is a terrible habit.

Comment below on your best tips or worst habits and in part 2 we will discuss some ideal things you can implement tonight for a great night's sleep.
